    PuppySwap.ca - rent a puppy

PuppySwap - the world’s first puppy rental service

No it's not real. It's an ad campaign by our humane society regarding animal abandonment.

Heard about that the other day. I wonder how many people don't go to the end of the video, or it gets around by word of mouth, corrupted, people think it's for real and try to sign up?

It hurts my heart to think that anyone could ever abandon their dog. I cant even think of it.

It even tears my heart out when I take Ram to the vet and I hand them his leash so they can take him to the back to draw blood.

Same here its really sad. That is how I ended up with Manny my toy poodle BC someone left him and we were going to have to take him to the SPCA. I got attached to him so once the legal stuff was done I was able to take him home. He was there 3 months

Abandoning a dog or cat is cowardly. I can understand getting in over your head with something. But be an adult and do the right thing.

I did hear of a Puppies For Rent company a while back. Puppies For Rent Their idea is to "rent" puppies so future dog owners can get a feel for puppy ownership and hopefully reduce abandonment rates. I have mixed feelings about this one. For the times it works and people find the right dogs it's wonderful. But what about the dogs when it doesn't work and they go from home to home. Or the people who just "rent" the dog for a day or two. I just don't see this being good for the dog.

I also dont understand hpw people are capable of dumping dogs. We find them with notes or not at the dog park quiet often. 2 years ago I rehomed 6 that I found.

    Well don't let them.

I don't, they take me back there with them. I give him treats and loving while they draw blood. Doesn't take more than me, a few treats, and 1 vet tech and done. They know how I feel, I almost asked to be there when he was being neutered but decided I couldn't handle that. Best to let the vet do their work safer for him.

Sad they say "when you pet grows up, becomes a bother or gets less likeable of him trade him for a puppy"..............that's just horrible!
That is wrong in itself, but what happens to the "older" dog???????
I'm not liking the possibilities for the poor dog.
