What Should I Be Aiming For w/ Calcium-Phosphorous levels?

Have a 9 week old puppy and have had him on Blue Buffalo large breed since we picked him up. He is doing well on it, but I wanted to make sure it has the right Calcium/Phosphorous levels. I noticed the website states the Min. amount it includes but not the max. I am hoping since its large breed its the right ratio.

1.1% is usually the number. The min. on that food is just a tad higher than I would feed. I always fed Pro Plan puppy which is 1.1% and I've never had a problem with growth.

1.2 : 1.0 is the *ratio* you are looking for. You can always email and ask for the "as fed" value. I did that w/ Canidae and learned it's really closer to 1.8% Ca as fed, vs that 1.2% min listed. Big difference when you have puppies or pregnant girls because I really don't want high Ca++ for either!

Was the breeder feeding Blue Buffalo? Or is it just the food you purchased at the time you brought him home?

I would feed what the breeder recommends; if he's a professional breeders puppy.

If not, I would stick with foods Jen or Windcanyon recommend, they've both raised lab puppies.
