Somebody brought me a gift the other day

Throwing ball for Zola in the backyard in the dark minding my own business, and Cedar is off prowling the yard as usual.

Next thing a turn around and there is a big rabbit lying on the deck with Cedar standing over it and it is alive ... didn't look damaged.

Thank my luck stars Zola does not see it, she is way to focussed on waiting for me to throw her next ball. So I quicky throw the ball, move Cedar away, tell her to stay. Bunny gets up a bit stunned and walks around the corner of the house. I put Cedar inside .... and continue throwing ball for Zola.

Then go inside for an hour or so, and do then did a thorough inspection of the yard .... not hard, bushes have no leaves and the rest is snow covered. No bunny, and confirm it by letting Cedar out again to double check. Got off lucky as I was not looking forward to finishing off a large rabbit.

Training for a "stay" saved the day--and the bunny. What a good dog!

Wow glad the bunny got away. Now just how focused is Zola on that ball?

Btw did you name Zola after Zola Bud the South African runner?

Uber focussed!!! Yes, she is named after the runner. I am from South Africa orignally so I try and pick a South African connection in the name ... Cedar is after the Cederberg Mountain range back home. Puppy 3 who is due to be born 3 weeks from now is going to break the mold I let my husband pick the name. My brother lives in the US and both his dogs have had SA themes as well.
