    So mad at myself

I brought the boys to work today with me. I had then behind reception this morning playing with Belle. I wasn't paying attention an someone opened the door and they went running out in the waiting room where there was another dog.

I went out and I could tell the dog was tense I just didn't get there fast enough and the dog went after gauge who then went after her. It was all notice nobody was hurt but def a situation I could have prevented if I got there a second sooner. On the plus part I got loud and snapped him out of it and he came over to me. The woman kind of gave me attitude telling me I shouldnt reward him i nicely told her I was rewarding him for coming.

He's usually very friendly with other dogs I'm wondering if the owner of the other dog got tense and created the fight.

He's been happy playing with a yellow male lab he's never met before all day.

I've seen it happen, a tense dog all of a sudden being approached rapidly by another dog, explosion happens. Glad everyone was OK.

Glad no one was hurt and you snapped him out of if and he came to you. You should have most definitely rewarded him for coming. Reward and timing are different with dogs. Their reward is for the thing that did that second. If you would have scolded him, he would have thought you were scolding him for coming.

You did the right thing rewarding him for coming to you. As for what caused it, maybe the owner was tense, but maybe the other dog just doesn't like strange dogs rushing at it, especially when it is on leash and they are not - that can be very threatening to a dog. Even though your boy may have meant well and wanted to play, the other dog may have not wanted to interact at all.

my dog comes to work with me on occasion - he has a bed under my desk. No one even knows when I have him - clients come in and out and have no idea he is there
