    Cute but disgusting.

Fran never ever eats foreign objects. She just doesn't do it. We got her when she was about three and now she's twelve. She's also a Daddy's girl and over the last few years has become almost alarmingly attached to him. Her day is simply made if she can nap with him on the couch.

So I am completely surprised when I see her this afternoon. She clearly has something in her mouth. She's not chewing but there's this expression on her face and it's like she's sucking on it. My husband had just come in from over an hour of snow throwing on our very long driveway. We're looking at her and she seems to drop something then pick it up again and start sucking on it. And I realize I've never taught her Drop It because it wasn't necessary. But she will give me a toy so I go over to her and hold out my hand.

It was my husband's soft foam ear plug. He has tinnitis so he wears them while he's snow throwing. And his sweet, dedicated Fran is sucking the ear wax off of it. And my husband looks at me with this grossed out look on his face and deadpans, "I dropped that when came in. I was wondering where that was."

I mean how sweet, but ewwwww.

Fran was just keeping it warm and safe.
Me, I'd be picking it out of the next day's poop!
