A three year old black lab named "John Boy" pointed a police officer to its owner who was slumped over due to health issues. The woman probably would have died, if it were not for her best friend:

What is even more wonderful is that this dog was considered almost unadoptable. He had bounced out of three homes before he found the right one. I think he repaid the favor!

This dog is amazing. Opie was instrumental in getting me to move and go in to the hospital last summer for sure. I think this story tells a tell for dogs in general and our labs in particular.
