Hemi at Bow Wows and Brews

So I mentioned earlier that Hemi and I were going to a special event. Hemi and I stay very active and social even in winter, luckily the town supports this.

Anyway Bow Wows and Brews was a special event dedicated to raise funds to support CSnip C-SNIP which is an organization providing high quality but low cost spay and neuter operation for pets. Hemi was put on the guest list. Which I am glad of it is kind of expensive, but it was a very good time.

They had games and contests for dogs, they had raffles for prizes, good beer and food. They even had valet parking, which seriously every car had a dog in it. Hemi thought this was the a great thing, other people holding the door open for him to let him right out of the truck and into the event. We ate some food, I did abstain from drinking that night. We played some games. Hemi was in the finalist for best pet trick contest, he didn't win as they went off crowd cheers and well there was a little girl about 10 who taught her dog to play dead so even I cheered and shouted for her and she won. Hemi and I did some freestyle. The bad thing about the location is they had a huge indoor fountain, which I have a Labrador that hasn't been swimming in months. So I spent a lot of energy keeping him out of the fountain when ever we walked by. They made it really difficult they also had floating rubber ducks in there.

Hemi met Snippy, the CSnip mascot, it was love at first sight. Snippy is a guy in a dog costume. Which Hemi thought this was great. He got up and gave him kisses and loving then decided he was pretty cool and wanted to play. So Hemi pulled one of his gloves off, then while I got that back Hemi went around and found he had a stuffed tail, which Hemi grabbed and started to drag Snippy around. I only got one photo with Snippy right before the glove came off. However a lot of people had a great laugh at these antics.

However it was a lot of fun, Hemi had a blast. I did get a lot of compliments on how well behaved Hemi was and how nice he was. He met a lot of people and dogs and we were there for 3 hours. He slept really good that night. He was wishing we could go to a dog party like this every night.

Hemi probably felt like getting revenge on Snippy and that's why he bit his tail. Good boy, Hemi.
