Look What We Found On Our Walk

We were on our morning walk in the yard after breakfast. I have a large flat area down below surrounded by rock formations. We always have the chuck-it and tennis ball with us to burn off some of Buddy's excess morning energy. After a few throws we started back towards the house and I noticed something sitting on the ground near the rocks. Apparently while dragging the yard to level off the ruts left from the recent rain, I had uncovered a 4" White Quartz Spearhead. We live in an area once inhabited by the Kumeyaay Indians and know of several artifacts found out here. A friend volunteers at our local museum and has talked me into donating it to them. Kind of neat to find it in my own yard and donate it so others can enjoy it too.

Thanks, my buddy at the Campo museum says they have Indian pottery, Ollas and baskets but no arrow or spear heads from our local tribes. We also have items here from Camp Locket the home of the Buffalo Soldiers and a Madonna Shrine from the Italian Internment Camp here during WW-II. I had thought about placing the spear head in a shadow box but I like the idea of our little museum having it.
