    The fruits of my labor

Puppy Mama brag... We've been taking Tucker to puppy classes, and he's passed his STAR puppy test. Yeah! He's always nuts when we're there, though, and my husband doesn't generally walk him much during the week. I take Tucker on 1.5-2 mile walks almost every day though (and he's gotten to the point where he can keep a 15.5 minute/mile pace - YEAH!), and I've been working with him on loose leash walking and sitting when we're being approached by other walkers or dogs. He's been doing really well for me, which has been great.

This morning, Jim took Tucker on a 4-mile walk/hike alone. When they got home, Jim said he could really see a difference in how well Tucker was behaving on the walk. He said he did a great job with the sitting when being approached, to the point where a few people commented on how well behaved he is.

I gave myself a pat on the back for that. And next time he acts like a nut, I'll not only remind myself that he's still a young puppy (hard to remember sometimes, when he's so big!) but that he DOES do well most of the time.
