    Kimber makes a new friend

DH and I took a long weekend trip together and our friends who own Kimber's boyfriend Cooper agreed to watch her for us. They also have a little girl, Kate, aged 2. Cooper's a RR so Kate's used to big dogs and she's met Kimber before, so we weren't too concerned. When we came home today, we learned that Kate thought Kimber is GREAT! Kimber let Kate pet her (unlike Cooper) and in return Kate let Kimber lick her (she makes a fuss when Cooper does it. Yes, Kate and Cooper have some sibling issues, LOL.) But the cutest tale: each morning, Kate wakes up and tells her parent, "I see Mama and Daddy and Cooper." Except this weekend it was "I see Mama and Daddy and Cooper and Kimber!" And during the day, she often sings to herself, "Mama, Daddy, Kate, Cooper"- and my friends reported that the songs were now always, "Mama, Daddy, Kate, Cooper, and Kimber". Kimber also was Kate's bestest friend ever when Kate was eating in her high chair, big surprise.

Just further proof that labs are the bestest!

Labs and kids are the best. I love watching mine interact with my nieces and nephews. We see my sister's kids very frequently, age 2.5 years and six months. My boys are so good and patient and loving. And of course they think the high chair is the best thing ever. It really is the beauty of a lab, to be so good with kids when they are not an every day occurrence.
