    Share your favorite dog-friendly cities

This summer, DH and I hope to do some road trips with Kimber. She's not quite the hiker or swimmer she was pre-spinal injury, but she absolutely loves strolling through neighborhoods and hanging out with us at restaurants that allow dogs in outdoor seating. We found Savannah, GA to be very dog-centric. What other cities have you found to be particularly dog-friendly? (We're probably limited to the continental US, east of the Mississippi, but I'm sure others would love to hear about the rest of the world, too.)

    TIA!

I know it's not in the area you're looking at, but Whistler BC is VERY dog friendly. It's a small mountain town where almost every store has a dog water bowl sitting out front, 2 beautiful waterfront dog parks, lots of doggie hiking, lots of restaurant patios that allow dogs. It's one of the biggest reasons I like going there

Hope you have some fun road trips this summer!

My cousin lives in San Diego (so across the country from you) and it sounds like that is very dog friendly. I've also heard that Portland is.

Not East coast but here in Vegas more and more place are starting to accept dogs. More and more restaurants and bars are allowing them in the outdoor seating areas. There is a few hotels that cater to dogs, one even has a private doggie park to enjoy during your stay. They even do doggie room service!

Last summer I took Daisy to Kitty Hawk, NC and I thought it was very dog friendly. Daisy enjoyed the beach!

Santa Cruz, CA! We pretty much did all of Thor's socializing out there. Some out of the way dog friendly beaches, lots of dog friendly restaurants, and dog friendly breweries (mom and dad's favorite).

Another favorite place is Bend, OR. Deschutes National Forest is the most dog friendly around - about 95% dog friendly AND off leash! RuffWear is based out of Bend and I have lots of friends who love living up there with their pups.
