When we first added my Newfie Heidi to the family, her and my cat Newman were mortal enemies and Newman lived on the second floor of our house for about a year. Gradually they became friends and now Heidi will groom Newman like he's one of her Newfie puppies. Newman is truly a cat with '9 lives', he's used up about 7 of them (he is indoor/ outdoor and at one point lost his tail)

Very cute.
I can see there is hope for Mocha and Duchess. They tolerate each other and Mocha can't not chase her. I can only dream of seeing them grooming and snuggling together.
