    Best Waterproof Collar??

Our Tucker loves the water, and I'm thinking I should get him a good waterproof collar.

So far the Dublin No Stink Waterproof Collar looks to be a good one.

Simply Solid - No Stink Waterproof - Collars | Dublin Dog

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thank you

If they are made of Betathane or Biothane they will be waterproof and stink proof. Dublin Dog does not have the kelly green colour I wanted so I had mine custom made by a local gal who does a lot of work for horse people. She makes halters, bridles and it's popular for lines and reins because it's so strong. I do have to give it a scrub with soap and a brush when Oban gets into sticky, stinky mud but it's much easier to clean than nylon. And dries very quickly; nylon takes hours to dry. The only thing is, it's not tooth proof and Oban's does have two small punctures from a play with his friend. Mine has fittings meant for horses so they are very strong, a buckle. I cannot speak to Dublin Dog but they've been around a long time, if their fittings were not strong I doubt they would have the following they do.

I have had Dublin Dog collars for years and I love them! Occasionally (2 - 3 times a year) I pop them into the dishwasher if they are filthy, but they do not stink. With Labs and especially those with heavy coats, I always take the collars off after a swim, a roll in a puddle, or similar when I get home to avoid hot spots.

I haven't tried other collars but I have this one I got through Gun Dog Supply, with an ID tag attached, and it has worked well for us.

    BEST-SELLER: Tufflex Center-Ring Dog Collar (1" Wide). $11.95.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

We have the Dublin Dog KOA collar and it's perfect! It's his second (outgrew the first) and he's been wearing it for at least six months. When I took it off to rinse him off after a roll in the mud last weekend I thought to myself how well it had held up - still looks new! And the brown trout pattern looks very handsome with his light yellow fur. We trimmed the extra length off the end and it hasn't frayed at all.

The Cabelas collar looks a lot like the Tufflex collar.

Cycle Dog collars are good too. My dogs collar looks great and its over a year old and has been wet many times. Lots of fun colors too!
