    Flea biting?

If anyone's labby does this then they will know what I'm talking about lol.. Sometimes Hodor flea bites me.. Like if he has an itch on and he just ever so gently uses his front teeth to itch it.. He does that to me almost like he is eating a corn on the Cobb with me being the corn! He does it when we're snuggling or getting belly rubs.. Some people say he is socially grooming me and others think he's play biting.. Any thoughts? Or anyone know the real reasoning? I think it's cute lol

Not sure about the grooming part, but all our dogs have done that. It's very gentle.

I call it nibbling. Most of mine have done it.

I call it nibbling, too. My yellow girl Honey did it and Sunnie does it sometimes, too.

I've always thought of it as a sign of affection, though I don't know the real reason why.

I think it can be both though I think they are far less gentle on themselves when it's a flea. I nearly had a heart attack when I found Jet doing that on the back of the neck of a new kitten who was only 6 weeks old. Jet and that kitten bonded instantly so I am sure it was not only grooming but a sign of affection too, because she only did it to the kitten, not the kitten's mother. Oban does it to Andy.

Mocha does this too. We call it flea biting or band aid removal!
