Oh yea I can "see" why....... Zoe and I would have some deep thought conversations without ever saying a word. Sounds crazy but I think we understood each other any of the other dogs usually looks away within the first minute but Zoe, man it was like she was telling you a story with her eyes complete with body movement too. If we could only really understand whet they were trying to say and not what we think they are/were saying.

Not crazy at all! While we tend to think about human communication as speech, body language is incredibly powerful.

It happened with our first lab, Potion. At the breeders, she sat in front of me, looked into my eyes, and I thought no way was I leaving there without her because she just told me she wants to go with me. She spoke volumes with her eyes and we had wonderful conversations without a word being spoken. All of our labs have had to some degree the same degree of communication with their eyes.

This the one struggle I have with Archie. He speaks German Shepherd and not lab and I am desperately trying to learn his language.

Aw this is is so sweet. Before bringing home Thor I read the other end of the leash. Direct eye contact with dogs is generally a no-no. But in the morning Thor will come lay his head next to mine on the pillow and just link eyes with me. Those morning moments are so special!

I love laying with the dogs and staring into there eyes, talking to them, kissing them. Its a huge bonding moment and means so much more than we know

I miss this so much about Britt, we had such a deep bond after 17 years. We read each other so well just by eye contact. She loved laying on my chest and she would just gaze at me while i talked to her, i miss her so much
