    A thought...

We had some pretty bad thunderstorms roll through during the night, the first ones this year. I woke up just before 4 o'clock for my usually bathroom call. Sophie was laying on the floor at the end of the bed, which is unusual. I think she make have been a little worried from the storms. I climbed back into bed, and a couple minutes later she came over to my side of the bed touched her nose to my hand for a couple seconds, the went to her bed and settled right down. You could still see lightning and hear distant thunder. I think when she touched me, she was checking to make sure everything was ok.

We got up this morning as normal, went out to the back yard and they ran around a bit. As I was calling them over to me, I noticed a full rainbow to the west. We headed out on our walk, and the rainbow remained, and although the sun was out, it started to sprinkle just a bit. As we made our final turn for home the rainbow slowly faded, and the sprinkle of rain stopped.

Despite 8 years of Catholic school, I don't consider myself a religious man, but I do believe in God. As we walked I contemplated the events of this morning. I came to a conclusion that maybe rainbows are God's way of saying the worst is over, and everything is going to be ok.

Just a random thought on a walk with my dogs.

This is beautiful. I am not a religious person by any means, although I was raised in a christian household. As an adult I have moved away from the lifestyle I was raised in. However, I think this is beautiful. You had both God and Sophie letting you know that all was well. I do believe that if there is a god present in this world, he acts often through dogs, because they always seem to know how to make you feel better.

What a wonderful walk with a rainbow guiding your way. Although not a church goer, I do believe in God and sounds like his natural beauty showed itself today.

The big guy does work in mysterious and beautiful ways indeed.
I had a little different experience with a rainbow, but I gotthe same feeling that all was going to be ok. The day we said goodbye but to Cheanna was a very low point in my life needless to say the tears were flowing quite heavilyas she left us and during the ride home. As I got out of my SUV for some reasonI turned towards where the vets office was roughly located and noticed the beginning of a rainbow coming from where the office is and going upward into a beautiful looking cloud I’ve seen in a while. I stood there a good 10 – 15 minutes contemplating what I’m seeing in this rainbow, then the feeling of remorsefulnessI had seem of fade away and I get this feeling that she (cheanna) is saying she made it to the bridge.

I believe God talks to us in a million ways we don't even notice. So when I do notice, it's worth the contemplation and even a post to the board. Thanks for posting.
