Funniest/silliest thing your lab has turned into a toy

Chopper's traffic cone 'toy' reminded me of baby puppy Kimber finding an old boot in the woods near our yard. She dragged it out of the underbrush, this big, black leather, man's boot. She was maybe 10 weeks old and the boot was as big as she was. She was so proud of herself and kept trying to bring it in the house. We made her keep it outside, and for weeks she entertained herself by first dragging, then lifting and dropping, and finally graduating to carrying this shoe around the yard. She liked to gnaw on the tongue, which held up beautifully to her puppy teeth. We'd say, "Where's boot?" and she would run around looking for it. Cheapest hours of entertainment ever!

What strange thing did your lab decide was as good as or better than the toys you spent money on?

Once I discovered Jet had such great fun with soft, plastic, big flowerpots I kept her supplied with them. She constantly needed new ones as her joy was in chewing the bottom out of them.

And then she'd get her front feet out one end and her back feet out the other end and walk around. -jet-puppy-flowerpot-2-jpg

    Rubber mulch.

I thought it was a good idea, then decided it wasn't, so I put it in a side area that no one but the meter man enters. Some got under the fence into the back yard. Linus will sift through the regular mulch and get the rubber mulch, chew it like gum, and flick it all around the house. He doesn't swallow it, thank goodness!

I find it all over the place and recently, between the sofa cushions. I had been blaming Sam for getting on the sofa, but the mulch gives it away!

He's been doing this since he was a puppy and it doesn't seem to be stopping.

Not a particularly weird favorite toy but Chase loves cardboard boxes. You know all those cat videos with the cats hiding in or jumping in and out of boxes? Chase could totally star in one of those.

Yikes, other than when our Akitas thought our young fruit trees were vertical fetching sticks, I've obviously had really boring dogs.

Thank you, all, for sharing these wonderful pictures.
