    The politics of food.

A while ago I posted about my disappointment that almost all of the local food pantry, thrift store and community cafe services were shut down after United Way took over. I did some research and found out that the woman from United Way who was put in charge initially has recently been replaced with the woman who ran the services for years and retired eight years ago. Almost all of the services are up and running again. The woman who has been replaced went on record to say that United Way took over the five town community services simply to be able to report higher population numbers so that they could get grants for a city that isn't even in the same county. In the last three years, she had done no fundraising or made any effort to support services in our community. She just shut almost everything down.

In any event, I'm glad she was canned and relieved that the food service effort for those who need it in our area is back on track.

Mix politics with anything and you've got a mess! Happy everything is getting back on track.
