    Dog whines for snuggles :)

Not that I'm complaining, mind you! But, does anyone else have a dog that just loooooves to snuggle?

Mind you, he really has no separation anxiety; in fact, sometimes it seems like he is just waiting for us to leave! We leave his crate open, and he has the run of the house when we're not home, but he somehow knows when we're getting ready to leave, and he'll go sit in his crate until we leave (though he is definitely on the couch when we get back!). Some days, he'll go sit in his crate and stare at us like, 'Um, can you guys GO somewhere?' Haha!

Anyhow... he is very vocal. Talks a lot. And loves to snuggle like nothing else. He will actually whine and talk and go stare at the couch or the steps until you go sit with him.. Like, 'It's time, Mama (or Daddy)'. Then he'll curl up and lay his head on your lap and snuggle in. He's so happy that way! My SO grew up with dogs all his life, and said he's never had a dog who's whined to snuggle!

Anyone else? I love it! It makes me happy that he's so keen to snuggle up.

My labs have not whined to snuggle, they just do it on any part of my body they can get to. Just last night I was outside pulling the occasional weed and Mardi kept laying on my feet, rolling over and waiting for a belly rub.

Archie is totally different. He's a GSD and very vocal. If he wants something he talks, often in the form of a whine. And yes, he vocally sasses, little stinker.

Oh, yes, DD sasses back, too! And it's not like he's starved for attention, haha. He gets plenty of snuggles every day; he just has a lot of times he wants more more MORE!

without doing my usual research, after rex passed, i got a french bulldog.
HE IS THE MOST VOCAL DOG I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.

my grandchildren are not afraid of my 70 lb labs but eli, all 26.4 lbs must be crated because when they come over, besides crawling and leaping (yes, my labs are perfectly trained) all over them, he "talks" which consists of pig like grunts and noises that one might mistake for god knows what. i spoke to the owner of his brother today and asked "does BeBe talk a lot ?".
    nope, not a sound.
eli is not only the talker, but also the watchdog. yes, he barks at the doorbell, and the labs look at him like he lost his mind.

No whining but definitely persistence when they want attention, a belly rub, ear scritch, food, etc. I also have a Lab/Border Collie mix female, Emma. She barks at everything, grumbles, talks a lot and definitely gives me sass. My Labs have mostly been fairly quiet dogs. Maxx often looks at Emma like she is nuts when she gets wound up.
