    Itch, Itch, Itch

Was supposed to go to the doc today to get the stitches out on my back. So ready for them to be out since they itch like heck and are pulling.

Docs office called this morning and had to delay until tomorrow.

Know what it's like not to be able to take a towel and give your back a good dry after a shower? Pat drying just does not do it.

A bit of Solarcaine? Could you put some on? It helped the OH a lot when he had jaundice. Thinking it would sting if there is any open wound left though.

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm so glad it's healed though!

Have thought about taking them out myself. Was wondering if Neosporin tonight would help soften them so removal would be more comfortable. Did not want to use Neosporin before now since it had to heal from inside out.

I put Neosporin on my stitches last year after my spinal fusion, for a day or so before removal. They were itching and pulling badly, it made me crazy. The Neosporin did help a bit with the itching but it wasn't the most comfortable removal of stitches. I hope yours is much better.

Hopefully you made it through the night (should you have been wearing a cone?).

I'd suggest Witch Hazel for the itchies.

hope they get to come out today, thats really itchy! i've always found freshly crushed up Aloe Vera leaf pulp to be great, its soothing, cool, and it seems to soften/moisturize.

editted to add you can find pure Aloe Vera gel in some pharmacies and health food stores, if you don't have a plant handy

Hi Fran - I didn't know you had stitches. Hope all is ok and you get those blasted things out today.
