Ugh, pee licking! Neutering didn't stop Chase from doing that. I shouldn't complain since he has very few undesirable habits but that is definitely one of them.
Good luck to you both!
I made the big appointment today for Linus. He is scheduled on July 2nd. I took the day off and don't go back to work until Monday. Bloodwork is scheduled for this coming Monday.
I'm praying to the less marking and pee licking and less distraction gods that it actually makes a difference!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

This may be a dumb question....but what is pee licking? Hope his surgery goes well!
It's when a female dog pee's, then the male dog goes to the spot, sniffs, licks, then pee's on the spot. The male smacks his lips and generally makes disgusting noises. Very hard to break.
May all go well!

Our Rally trainer found she still had to work very hard to control those actions. Her boy was 3 when she had him snipped. He did get better though.
I promised my DH that I would do Grizz this year. Hopefully I can get his UKC champion title before my time runs out! Or rather Grizz's....

I wish you luck, it doesn't improve right away, it takes some time. However I have not seen Hemi do the pee licking and teeth chattering in a very long time. I actually don't remember the last time, maybe before Christmas. However it takes a while, like a few months to settle down and the whole time you still have to correct them, guide them away and so on. It took a while to get focus back as well. You just have to keep working at it.
