Orijen Too Much for Eight Week Puppy?

I have a year old yellow lab that has been on Orijen since she was about eight months old. She loves the taste way more than the Pro Plan that she was on, and I like the ingredients better.

Now, I'm getting a puppy at the end of July. In a perfect world, I'd switch the puppy over the first week and use high quality dog food for both. But I'm wondering if Orijen will be too rich and/or too much protein for an eight week old puppy.

Once the new puppy makes the switch, she will be on Orijen Large Breed Puppy formula until she's ready to make the switch to adult dog food. I'm just not quite sure when I should make the switch from Pro Plan (which the breeder has the puppies on) to Orijen.

If you trust your breeder and the pup is doing well, keep her on the breeder's food for about the first year before switching her. The food roller coaster is no fun and not healthy for puppies.

That is a HUGE switch for a baby to make, as the foods are very different.

I would stick to what the breeder is feeding for the first year.
