    Happy Canada Day

Known as Dominion Day to many of us. It's our 148th birthday.

What are your plans for today? We usually go to or have a a barbecue but this year will be fairly quiet and by ourselves. A nearby ski resort puts on a good fireworks display, we may attend if the OH feels up to it.

And to you! This evening I'll be at volunteering during the celebrations in Brampton. Hopefully this year school kids won't be shooting fireworks into the crowd again.

We've already played with dead ducks, had a brief but intense downpour that had all the lawn-mowing neighbours take cover, and i'm now trying to clean the 2 bird cages and vaccuum the house. Can usually see the fireworks from one of the local spots from the front porch, so may watch those.

Happy Canada Day!! We are hoping to go and check out the festivities, once the downpour is over. We have an annual camping weekend with friends the weekend before Canada day and set off fireworks (they have 50 acres of land and must say put on a fabulous firework display) so I will probably skip the fireworks this evening as I am up at 4:45am for work tomorrow. Enjoy your day!!

It's a quiet day here. I smoked a meat loaf and roasted some red bell peppers. We had an early meal - meat loaf, salad greens, radishes and celery from our garden, topped with the peppers. A quick stir fry of our snow peas and the peppers, finished with a crisp made with our rhubarb.

I repotted the geraniums and the chlorophytum, still need to do the cacti. Waiting for the laundry to finish drying on the line. In the meantime I'm enjoying a Muskoka Mad Tom IPA.

Faye works the 3-11 shift today.

Have a happy and safe Dominion Day, y'all.
