Oh, what a beautiful cat...both of them (Hobie reminds me of my Thea).

Many good wishes for his recovery.

One thought...have yours ever exhibited any aggression toward each other when one comes home from the vet? One of our cats, a black shorthair female, used to hiss/growl/scratch the other cats when one came home smelling of the vets' office. Thea often was the target since she'd had so many surgeries (a longer stay was much smellier apparently than just the annual visit). Anyway...I just wanted to recommend/remind you that this could be an issue with the others and Hoover. You don't want your "little" guy getting picked on.

Hobie always picks on Hoover since a kitten.. although HOover can instigate at times.. other times they groom each other.

Trouble and Thea were great buddies except when Thea came home from the vet. It would sometimes take two or three days for Trouble to accept Thea again. She was like that with the other cats we'd had at the same time, too, but Thea was the one who was gone the most and for the longest times.

Funny how Trouble never seemed to mind visiting the vet herself...

That's so weird about cats and the vet! My friend recently told me about how her cat had come back from the vet after a stay and when they got home, the cat attacked her. It sounded terrifying.

I hope your kitty has an uneventful recovery! I did not know they could get blocked with hair! Is there anything you have to do differently from now on?

They are beautiful cats. I hope Hoover doesn't get picked on too much or snickered at because of his lion cut.

After my cat's second surgery the vet suggested that I feed him Gastro Intestinal Fibre Response / Veterinary Therapeutic Formulas / Feline Nutrition / Veterinary Products / Home - RoyalCanin. The fibre helps to keep the hair moving through the body and he's not been back to the vet with any issues.

Oh my. Hoover looks a lot like my friend's Magnum. And her later cat Oscar. Very handsome fella, your Hoover.

    Beautiful cats!

I did have problems when bringing home one cat after surgery with the other cat picking on her. I kept them apart using a screen door so they could see each other, smell, and in a few days all was back to normal. It must be something to do with the smells that are on them.

    Sending prayers for Hoover.
