Hoover needing a resection.. my excitement was short lived

Well, the vet said... his stomach is backed up with fluids... the bowel must be removed and re sectioned as previously thought
but she wanted to avoid this major surgery based on the bowel pinking up after the removal of that G DAMN Hairball. So, another surgeon will be doing the surgery tonight. The vet stated he has a great prognosis and if she thought he would not have a full and long life, she would have told me to put him down. Will keep you all posted. Sophie and all of us miss him so much.

Oh no. Actually it sounds like he's going to have something similar to the Whipple surgery my OH had, and OH is fine. Hoover will be too.

So sorry for Hoover. Hopefully this will be the end of the surgery and Hoover will get a chance to heal and be back to normal.

Sending prayers for a quick surgery and fast and full recovery.

Oh cr4p...not an update I expected to see.

Maine Coons are tough kitties...but any surgery is scary.

One thing we were told after one of Thea's more major surgeries was to make sure she stayed warm (it was a dental, nothing requiring shaving, and not in winter). We got her a heated dog bed to stretch out in. You may want to ask up front if this is something you need to consider for Hoover.

    Good thoughts...kitty mojo...positive thinking...all headed your way.
