Recieved my my black Lab Maddie this morning

I received my black lab named Maddie this morning and I was a little emotional. My mom saw she was going to change my quality of life, going to be my service dog mainly.I was shot in the back by my abusive ex husband which will be two years next month which the bullet hit my spinal cord which I became paralyzed from the waste down.I get around in a wheelchair now.I even put Maddie to the test, dropped my cellphone and she picked it up telling her good girl after hearing my command.Maddie is already trained to shut off and on light switches and open doors for me too.I am glad to have her in my life now.

I even helped train Maddie a year ago when I went to the class.Luckily my workplace knows that this is going to happen and Maddie is my service dog.Even got the rope to put on the door handle. My family knows my life has changed in a positive way since this happened

I have read Labs make great service dogs for paralyzed people like me.I can't reach for things on the floor anymore since I am in a wheelchair.Being a domestic violence survivior,Maddie is saying everything is going to be ok now having her comfort me.
