I have a 6 yo Siamese mix named Tucker. Tucker hates dogs but loves my brother's chocolate lab, Bruno. I had hoped Daisy and Tucker would get along also. Well... Every time Daisy sees Tucker she gets too excited and scares him off. So when I moved into an apartment with Daisy (I was mooching and living with my parents rent free) I left Tucker with Mom and Dad. Besides the safety of not having a dog chasing after him he loves to hunt in my parent's garden...and he gets lots of love from my parents. Tucker has a huge 8 foot tall cat tree he hangs out in when I visit. He doesn't jump down when I visit typically. Anyway... (Long story, sorry) Tonight I was visiting and Tucker was on the kitchen floor! Daisy saw him and I said "uh uh Daisy leave my kitty alone" and she turned around and came back to me!! She got lots of treats!! They won't be cuddling anytime soon but maybe one day they could hang out in the same room together!

Definitely a great sign to one day peace between Daisy and Tucker! Definitely a time to celebrate. Fingers crossed for continued success.
Really love Tucker's coloring. Daisy, just a sweet, gorgeous girl.

That's awesome, congrats! Don't have much experience with cats, but still remember Max, the Siamese we had some 35 years ago, and he could be really rough when he didn't like something, so I'd probably have been a lot more worried about Daisy getting hurt

We have the same situation with Mocha & Duchess. Duchess is a 10lb Diva of the house. She is not scared of Mocha, he is just to brutish! He thinks she is the greatest play toy ever. She is self propelled! We are hoping some day to see them cuddling but right now we're not holding out breath.
Yes, I'm just happy Daisy was able to control that impulse to chase something that is running away. She was pretty mouthy when she was playing with a kitty at the breeder's house and Tucker would never allow that. The cat tree ensures that Tucker is never backed into a corner- he always has an escape route. I wish he would try to stand his ground a little, then he would see how harmless Daisy really is.

Eventually he'll stand up for himself. It took my cats months before they'd slap. Simon gets some good ones in, but it took at least two months of constant exposure before he did anything. Pixie is a thickie and hasn't seemed to figure out Slap + Claws + Hiss = Go AWAY! One of my girl cats will slap a little now, but she mostly just hisses and runs. The other girl cat just hides. Sometimes a growl and a hiss... It's slow goings here too- but they'll eventually figure it out.
Ine thing you might try next time you get Tucker & Daisy together in the same room is feed kitty something delicious, like deli meat and have another person there to hold Daisy and feed her something tasty while she is sitting calmly. I did that when we watched my brother's dog- my witchiest little cat warmed up in no time! ... but don't ask why we haven't done that yet with Pixie... I don't know myself lol

Yes, Good idea! We did that with my brother's dog Bruno which is probably why Tucker likes Bruno so much. But he is older and calmer. Daisy is just beginning to calm down so maybe I'll be able to try that soon. Any sudden movement from Daisy though and Tucker is gone. It will help when I have them both in the same house again

Yay! My dogs love the cat too. We got her from the shelter and she lived alone with just myself and my husband for the first few years of her life so having the dogs around have really cramped her style. She is generally a mean cat and most people avoid her, but she is so soft and pretty everyone wants to pet her. Poor girl. Suddenly, during our move, she has given in to Charlie and started to tolerate Burton. I think she accepts Charlie because he fears her and tolerates Burton because he loves her. Either way, she still rules the roost around here.
Glad you have found some common ground with yours :*) Look forward to hearing more about them getting along soon!
