    Tooth and limping

Auggy Doggy just turned 11 and over the last few months has developed a minor limp. He is on aspirin, but might need something stronger. My vet recommends Rimadyl, but a while back he tried it for 10 days and quit eating because it toxified his liver. We stopped it and used milk thistle to detoxify him.
Last night he lost a tooth. It was the pre molar, right behind the big front fang. It looks like the tooth and most of the root. Is this an age thing, or should something be done right away? The gum looks fine, and there is just an empty spot where the tooth used to be. Here is a couple of shots.

    Poor Auggie!

You might want to take him to the vet for a check. Potion had a similar problem with Rimadyl but did very well on Tramadol. I've used it on several other labs also with no problems. While the vet is checking the limp problem, he could take a look at his mouth. Can't tell if the root of the tooth has broken off or not from the picture.

    Sending good thoughts.

Hudler was on metacam (human version called meloxicam) and tramadol. He did OK. The tooth looks like the root dissolved or broke.
