Gabby's bucket list...check and check!

We got to check 2 things off of her bucket list! The DH and I took Gabby camping at our Pennsylvania cabin, which she loves. It was such a spectacular weekend that we decided to try canoeing with our water loving girl. First things first - she had to get on the canoe bus with a group of people and another dog. She got to ride up front and watch the world go by through the glass bus doors. She laid in the aisle and acted like she'd been on 100 bus trips.

When we told the owner of the canoe livery that it was Gabby's first trip, his comment was "oh, so you don't even know" - we all laughed, but we were so nervous! We formulated a plan: 1. It seemed like torture to put her straight into a vessel surrounded by all of that tempting water, so we let her swim a bit first. 2. We bagged everything we brought - triple bagging the 1 cellphone that came along. 3. All of the bagged items went into another big bag, and it was attached to the inside of the canoe. 4. A blanket and towel were included for her (hoped for) leisure time in the canoe.

We couldn't have asked for a better day - eagles swooping over us, clear Allegheny River, no one in sight for most of the trip, gorgeous weather and a happy lab! Gabby also learned a new command: "paws in the canoe" - lol.

What an awesome day! I haven't been canoeing in years. We used to go all of the time when we lived in Western PA. It's great Gabby was such a good girl and didn't tip the canoe. Now you know she likes it, you can go more often! Sadly, I can't see the pictures either.

I added the pics a different way...maybe now? We did have a fantastic time - it's amazing how much we love Miss Gabs more each day.
