I like "Positive Gundog Training" by Robert Milner.
Hey all--
Thanks for the warm welcome today. Leia and I just got back from a nice walk and while walking I was thinking about getting a book. Kind of like an "all about Labs" book.
I (or my family growing up) have owned various dogs, but never a Labrador.
Do you all have any recommendations that you found particularly helpful? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you!

We read Tom Dokken's books for Hunting Training, and watched a lot of youtube videos.
Have you done something like a beginner obedience class? It may be very helpful! I am sure Tanya will chime in with some wonderful advice, she has a wonderful rescue and fosters a lot.

Tom Quinn... Working Retrievers
A book of gorgeous dog and wildlife art (Quinn is an artist by trade but trained and competed his own Field Champions). It describes some training concepts, but that's not a major focus of the book (and some of it is dated). I found his research on the history of the 3 main retriever breeds and his essays on nature, habitat, hunting and hunting dogs were the best part of the book. It's a must.
Labrador Retrievers For Dummies is a nice introductory book.
