    New pup

Hey Everyone! I have an 11 year old black lab named Ally, she has been eating Diamond Naturals for years and has done very well on it. We also have a 14 week old yellow named Riley. Riley came to us on Purina One large breed puppy. I am wondering if I can start feeding Riley the diamond naturals? Thanks for the help!

    Hi and welcone!

I wouldn't, if anything I would change to Purina Pro Plan Focus, chicken and rice. I would keep puppy on that until switching to an adult formula. (Disclaimer - I am not a fan of any Diamond products but that does not affect my advice.) I think it is best to keep a puppy on what the breeder was feeding through growing and discuss any change with them. Pro Plan is just a better quality without drastic change.

I don’t really have a problem with Diamond, but I do think that Pro-plan is similar enough to Purina One that it would be an easy switch if you didn’t want to keep the pup on the Purina One (which isn’t all that bad for a supermarket brand). We usually switch our pups to adult around 4-5 months, so it wouldn’t be that much longer for you to wait ....
