    Your dog's Favorite Birthday Treat?

What do you all give to your dogs for their birthday treat? Bacon turns 2 in 2 days (where has the time gone?!) and I'm trying to pick out a good treat for him!

We have done a treat of bacon before and oddly he holds it in his mouth and then will play with it--Making a giant mess!!

I don't know... Anything that has to do with food is his favourite... But I make a cake because it's a special occasion

Too funny - Bacon doesn't exactly love Bacon Cassie does the same thing with any food she isn't exactly crazy about. She flings it up in the air, catches it and then repeats until there are pieces everywhere. Oddly she does this with carrots. She really doesn't like them but she loves cherry tomatoes go figure.

I grilled Cassie a sirloin steak for her 2nd birthday and fed her piece by piece so that she at least tasted it a little before inhaling it. A local bakery makes a big doggie cookie and I think that will be the next birthday treat when she turns 3 in March.

For Thor's first birthday I 'frosted' a stack of his favorite treats with peanut butter. He didn't know what to make of the candle, however. We also went to our favorite dog-friendly brewery with our human and doggy friends and they gave him (non-beer) treats. Watching this thread for some good ideas for Birthday #2!

They always get a cake from the local dog bakery. It is a honey flavored cake with peanut butter frosting and then the writing is done with yogurt icing.

I was going to suggest bacon; who knew Bacon would not like bacon.

I've done a variety of home made cakes and frosted treats. The big hit here is cheese.

We were out of town for Stig's 1st birthday, so I found a local dog bakery and bought him (and my dad's dog) a doggy "pupcake".

We should be home for his 2nd birthday, so I'll probably bake him a cake.

Berna made a wonderful looking birthday cake for Cookie when he turned 9. Somewhere in the thread I asked what she used and she was kind enough to respond. You might check this out: Cookie turns 9 today!

I was thinking of making some kind of small meatloaf when Chase's birthday comes up at the end of this month, with carrots and other vegetables baked in. He'd probably be happy with a little can of food, all to himself, that could also be frosted to look like a little cake.
