    Has anyone tried jackfruit?

I'm getting all kinds of conflicting information on the internet. When I search jackfruit, I get results for durian. Then some claim that jackfruit is different and doesn't smell.

Has anyone tried jackfruit? Did it smell like "turpentine and rotten onions on top of a dirty gym sock"? Others says that true jackfruit smells fine and tastes great.

Jackfruit smells nasty but tasts kind of like a pinapple melon kinda blend. I really cant explain. I tried it once and have had no desire to eat it again.

I have never heard of it. Honestly, the name makes me not want to try it, is that weird?

Durian is banned from Singapore public transport because of the smell and many think that they're the same thing.

It's supposed to be high in 50 different nutrients and can be prepared in something like seven different ways. I was also wondering if it would keep people off my property. No, I'm joking. Or not. I'm not sure.
