Puppies had their first official lesson yesterday

I’ve been working stuff with them at home, but our center isn’t having any competition puppy classes at the moment (they only offer when there are enough people with puppies and we just missed one), so we did a private lesson with my trainer.

They did GREAT. Had no problems doing all of the things I had taught them at home (Sit, Down, Stand, Spin, Twist, Come, Touch, etc) even in a new place, and we started them on lots of new things. Baby heeling, baby go-outs, some games to work pivots and body position, marking, touching a target, the beginnings of directed jumping etc. The instructor was pleased and surprised by how quickly they were picking everything up and how well they pay attention even for babies.

I know Labs as a breed are meant for hunting, but this particular litter was planned with an Obedience career in mind, so it was SO nice to see them starting down that path and showing just as much aptitude as I’d hoped for.

Sassy waiting to see what game we will play next:

Amazing! Lab puppies are little sponges, so eager to learn.

So young and doing so good not to speak of how adorable they are.

Keep the pictures coming. Only problem, I'm drooling on the keyboard - puppitis.

That sounds so fun!! It's gotta be so exciting to watch them blossom from puppyhood (is that a word?) on.

That is so precious! I just love these little girls to pieces. My DH was not happy about the overwhelming puppy fever I have. I keep blaming it on Sassy, Cookie, Wrigley and Tickle! After showing him the pics of everyone he was a bit more understanding, lol!

I wish I could come and watch, to see the puppies but to see you train too.
