Well I am not new but....

I am not new but I have been MIA for many many months. Gosh I don't even remember when my last post was. December maybe? Anyways, I come on and lurk from time to time to get the news, and Dodger is doing well. My gecko's are good too, as are my 2 parrots and tortoise.

I went through a rough spell, after my surgery in Oct, I accidentally went off my antidepressants and it took me a long time to get back to normal. I am still not 100% but am doing better. I somehow found solace in books and have been reading 6-10 books a week since last Dec. It's like an addiction, it's what got me through the hard times. But things are getting better.

Dodger is as crazy as ever. He will turn 7 this year and I just can't understand how he can still act like a pup. At some point we hope he will calm down but I don't think it's going to happen, lol.

Well, anyways, I know I am throwing myself to the wolves posting and admitting I have been mia, missed you all though.
Hopefully you haven't forgotten Dodger and I, I am super busy at work right now so I won't be able to post too often, but thought I would come out from hiding. It's a big step for me, but I am feeling extra brave tonight and I miss all my labby friends.

It's great to see you back! Dodger is 7? Wow! Glad to hear the rest of the menagerie is doing well- and I hope that includes the boys! Chase will turn 9 at the end of this month. He's pretty calm but maybe he seems so calm because Lark is still such a little wild thing. She'll be 3 in December but she's definitely still very energetic and puppy-like and keeps Chase much more active than he might otherwise be.

I'm not sure how you can manage work, read 6-10 each week AND care for the kids and pets, no matter how much help you might get. It's exhausting just to contemplate. I'm so glad you came and checked in. We've missed you and hope to see more of you!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Wow, 9 & 3, time flies....yup...well I am not back to doing everything as I once did, so reading still takes up a lot of my time that it shouldn't but it gets me through. I speed read, so I can read a 300+ page book in about 6 hours. My kids are the same, they go to school and can read 4 books a week. Although they have more time than I do. I am glad you and your crew are doing well Sue!

That's really good. Reading on that level. I've heard of that as really good therapy after a serious life issue.

    Welcome back!

You could have changed your username and I would remember you because of your avatar.... I always thought it was so cute both of them looking out the window.

Glad to know that things are getting better.

I agree, I always loved Krosen's avatar and would easily have recognized it too.

I'm currently reading lots too and have set myself challenges to read a certain number of books this year and to attempt to decrease my library of unread books. At times it does seem like I should be doing other things BUT, like you, it is very therapeutic for my mind.

Hoping you continue to improve! Good to see you back here!
