    Weirdest hotel check-in experience ever

As I got out of my car upon arriving at the Comfort Suites in NC, I saw a full grown pit bull running up to me. He was unleashed and running fast. I ran into the hotel, but with the automatic doors, the dog had no problem following me into the hotel. The dog began running up and down the corridors and around the lobby. The two other guests in the lobby and I conferred and discovered none of us were the owner. We got the attention of the desk worker, who said simply, “It’s not my dog.” We repeatedly explained the dog was running around the building- that nobody owned him- that someone could get bit- and the desk worker just shrugged. I told him to call Animal Control and he said that was not his job. The two other guests and I then herded the (uncollared) dog out to the parking lot and began discussing what to do next. Thankfully, the dog’s owner showed up. She lived across the street and explained that while she was in the kitchen, her dog had pushed open the front door and made a run for it. (She'd taken his collar off because they'd just gotten back inside after a walk).

But what the HECK ????? The Comfort Suites guy kept answering the phone and doing paperwork the entire time we, the guests, were trying to handle the dog. My mind is just beyond boggled.

It's amazing how good the help is when you pay them $9 an hour.

Wow that is aweful did you take his name and report his lack of concern towards the hotel guests?

I don't care if he was being paid 50 cents an hour. When I wasn't sure if the dog was going to attack me and said, "Sir, can you please help me" and he TURNED AWaY and kept talking on the phone- just human decency should've kicked in.

He deserves $0 an hour with that attitude and work ethic. Unbelievable!

I agree with you 100%. One of the many problems with the world today, common sense and decency are sadly lacking.

I do hope you follow up with the manager. He's a moron. "Not his job" indeed.
