Oh Cookie - what are we going to do with you?

Ran into my neighbor while running at the park. Apparently Cookie was in his yard this morning, playing with their dog (9 month old Shih Tzu) I had no idea - I knew she was outside but since she came back in when I called her I didn’t realize she was coming under the fence from the next door neighbor’s yard, LOL, as I couldn’t see the fence from the door.

It was funny, and the puppies had a great time - Leo was apparently upset when she left and tried to figure out how to follow her back to our yard, but since it involved bulling her way under the chain link fence separating the properties, he just didn’t have the muscle, according to his owner who saw the whole thing. The thing that concerns me though is that they haven’t covered their pool yet, and if she were to fall in without anyone seeing, she wouldn’t necessarily know how to get out, so we are going to examine the fence this afternoon to try and make it more secure. We will have to have more supervised play dates though since they got along so well!

A little adventure girl, making her own play dates, lol!

Seriously, I would be worried about the pool also. Now that she has learned she can escape she may try harder. Scary thought!

Gotta be where best buddies are!

I too would be concerned about the pool, even when it is covered. Little stinkers keep us hopping.

I couldn't help but laugh. I can just see a little lab butt wiggling to get under the fence and to the other pup LOL

Is there any way that you can "teach" Cookie to swim and learn how to get out of the pool? Or at least just show her the steps? I'd be concerned about the pool as well, even when it does get covered for the season. Maybe teach her "NO" and show her that the pool is off limits?

We had that problem too except ours was going out to the street. Solved it by staking a couple pieces of rebar through the fence into the ground.

We used railroad ties (landscaping ties). We stapled the bottom of the fence to them, and they couldn't move them to get through.
