Good for you boys. Looks like a great day
Aye Mates,
TRAD and meself joined me gunning Mate Bill for some early season pheasant hunting today. The morning started out cool with low lying fog that burned off with the rising sun and a corresponding climb of the mercury. Hot temperatures and humidity kept me watching TRAD closely, taking frequent breaks, and rehydrating him frequently.
The birds were worked in an array of grassland cover, croplands, and hedgerows. TRAD worked the cover hard while we enjoyed a beautiful albeit hot day under blue skies and contrasting orange, red, and yellow hues of the fall foliage.
TRAD kicked off today's hunt with his first pheasants of the 2015-2016 bird season retrieved. During last season (TRAD'S first) he had a total of 98 pheasant's retrieved and delivered to hand. TRAD'S 2nd season started today and we look forward to a hunt in Iowa at the end of this month into early November.
TRAD and meself enjoy a wee moment of respite from the blazing sun under some shade trees bordering the croplands we had worked earlier, TRAD flushing several birds for meself and me gunning partner Bill. During our pause, we took some photo's and subsequently cleaned our birds whilst enjoying a couple of cold pints once the guns were put up for the day.
T'was a sweet day of gunning for upland birds in the fall splendor of New England. Enjoy ye Labrador Retrievers, and good training / hunting to ye all.

What a great day! Nothing better than being out in the field with a faithful dog, even if you don't hunt.
