    Question Dental chews in bulk??

Anybody know where one can buy dental chews in BULK? I have a 100lb lab and a 60lb mix tape. (lol) and everywhere i look, LARGE dental chews (greenies type) are gonna cost me 100/mo. because they don't pack enough chews to last a month with 2 dogs. i HATEE how small dogs get better deals ... for the same money i spend on 17 chews ... small breeds are getting like 8 years worth per box ! >_<

Any info would be helpful! . .Thanks!

I do not use Greenies and never would. I have bought bully sticks in bulk but honestly a raw turkey neck or pork rib bone and brushing keep teeth very clean at my house!

I used Greenies for Mulder during his last couple years - not so much for clean teeth but they did help his breath and were easy for him to digest plus he LOVED them. Too expensive to use on a regular basis when I’m not spoiling a 15 year old senior, LOL.

I would recommend going to Costco if you have a membership, they have grain-free dental chews in their product line and Greenie's as well for less than $25.

Same here! They have also been recalled in the past so I don't trust them.

OP, have you looked into antlers? They will definitely last you a lot longer than greenies.

That was my first thought too. Antlers, a good deer antler can last a month maybe 2 at my house. Large Elk antlers will go 6 months.

If you don't mind my asking - what's the issue with Greenies? We don't keep them at home, but gave 1 to the dogs when we were at a friend's house last year. But since that visit, I have heard people say not to give Greenies, but never a reason for why. More for curiosity's sake than anything...it took my pups about 3 minutes to eat 1, so we'd go broke giving those as chew toys. Elk antlers work much better with my monsters.

I think there was an issue with dogs getting obstructions from swallowing large-ish pieces of Greenies that did not break down or dissolve in their stomachs or wherever. I also think the Greenies makers changed the formula some from the problem formula. Let me look for some info. OK, these aren't scientific articles but will give you an idea of the concerns Greenies or other dental chews may present.

I lump them in the junk food category along with milk bones, beggin' strips, and other grocery store treats. I'm sure they are fine on an infrequent basis.
