Was it like a *drop* of blood? Or just pinkish urine? Either way... call Vet first thing in the morning, of course. Fingers crossed. Probably residual UTI.
Cooper had a UTI and bacterial infection about a month ago. He's been off the antibiotics for a few weeks now and was doing great. Yesterday he started peeing excessively again (in the house twice and again 3 times today). I called the vet and we agreed to try a refill and retest his urine in 3 weeks when the meds were gone. Then tonight I notice his 3rd wet spot, thankfully on a white puppy pad, and it had a large spot of blood in it. Unfortunately it was after 9 p.m. so I will have to call 1st thing in the morning.
Does anyone have ay thoughts? Is it just lingering UTI??? I sure hope that's all it is.

With his recent history, I'd agree with something lingering.
But Danny had a pinkish bit of urine one time (I "blot" after potty trips because Dan goes on the furniture...it showed up on the paper) that turned out to probably be from a bout of sneezing he'd done a bit earlier in the day. It never happened again and I did nothing.
No thoughts other than UTI can sometimes be hard to get rid of. I wonder if the Vet will give him a different antibiotic? Good thoughts.

I went through this with a pug I was babysitting several weeks back. He was given 2 weeks of Clavamox and I was instructed to bring a sample back in in 3 weeks. He just went for his re-check and still has blood in the urine. He is scheduled for an ultrasound this coming week. They did an X-ray and looked for stones when I took him in, which they didn't see, but there was a cloudy area that couldn't been some sediment in the bladder.
Maybe an X-ray is in order?
If they didn't do a culture and sensitivity to make sure they put him on the correct antibiotic, you might ask them about that. They usually start with an antibiotic that is the most likely to cover the infection but sometimes it doesn't. Hope this clears up, I'm sure it's worrisome to you and uncomfortable for the jelly bean!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Does sound like a recurrence of the UTI. It's possible that the antibacterial was not the right one to eliminate the bug. Also, could be crystals in the urine or a bladder stone.
Trip to the vet.

They gave him a 3 week course of the antibiotic and I need to take him in to be recultured after it is gone. He was not recultured after the last UTI because it was set for this week...now with recurring symptoms we are going to wait to check it all again. He had a full bloodwork panel and urine culture done last month. There were no crystals or stones on examination, but that doesn't rule them out totally.
I'm praying the meds work this time to get him feeling 100%.

I would personally ask for an ultrasound to rule out bladder/kidney stones. My chihuahua recently had blood in her urine and misdiagnosed at first as just a UTI, when it reoccured after antibiotics, we did an ultrasound and the bladder stones were found. She was in surgery the next day and has been fine ever since. That was 2 months ago. The stones turned out to be struvite stones
Any update today?
