Strange Dream(nightmare), What should you do?

I was taking a late afternoon nap today and had the strangest dream. Not sure what triggered it but it made me think.

It started off something like this. Emma somehow ran through a sliding glass door, and cut her self really bad, I tried patching her up but there was to much blood. So I put her in the back seat of the car and headed to the vet. I was driving down the highway super fast and swerving in and out of lanes to get there faster. When a cop was pulling me over, I kept driving and driving and soon there were multiple cops and a helicopter. It was pretty much a full on police chase. I pulled into the vet and ran her in, they were expecting her. then walked back out to where the cops were surrounding the building and I woke up to Emma licking my face.

So my question is, in a really life situation. What do you do? If its really that bad of a situation, I would think if I stopped she could bleed out. Do you call the police and let them know whats going on? that you have a cop behind you but you can stop since its a animal emergency? Could Human rescue help your pet? Other possible scenarios?

Actually you are supposed to pull over, you can then let the officer know of the emergency and they will help from there, usually a police escort or something. You do need to pull over though.

Human emergency like 911 might help, but it is crap shoot sometimes they will charge you for the call and emergency response.

Wow, what a scary nightmare! Honestly, I think I would have continued to the vet and caledd 911 to explain the situation. I would worry about dealing with any consequence after my dog was safe with the vet

Scary dream. We had a similar incident. The morning after Potion's spay she started dripping blood. With DH in the back holding a compress on her belly, I drove like a mad woman to the e-vet hoping there would be no cops. Luckily there were none and also it was 5 am on a Sunday morning. DH kept saying, just keep going.

Turned out to be a small vessel leaking. Leaking??? She soaked a big spot on a towel. It was a complicated spay since she had had a previous C-section and a lot of scar tissue. Over night at the e-vet with a compression bandage solved the problem.

I'd suggest find someone else to ride with you or drive so you or they could hold pressure on the site, then drive like a bat out of he11. I'd probably pull over for the police if there was someone holding pressure but I'd be crying and so frantic, surely the police would escort me with lights flashing! (Then put me under psychiatric observation )

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
