On the other side of the bathing issue.

Nikki has periodic incontinence issues and has been dribbling in her sleep recently. She also has arthritis so I tend to wipe her down and use a no rinse shampoo so that she doesn't have to get into the tub or get washed down outside when it's cold. She's been doing well though on the mobility front but I didn't adjust the routine and apparently she was not satisfied with that.

My husband couldn't find her today. I was still asleep and he was hunting everywhere. Finally he found her standing in the tub. Later tonight, she kept indicating and I pointed to the tub. She jumped in and I gave her a bath.

She knows what she wants and what she can handle. Gotta love it.

Such a smart girl. A couple of days ago we met doggy friends we haven't seen in a long time. The little guy is 19 years old. Yes. Wow. Anyway, he's all red, raw and scalded down the insides of his back legs from urine burns. She tries to bathe him as needed but he doesn't like it. It's important to keep that cleaned up.

Oh yes. She's on a number of supplements. We have been seeing a holistic vet for about six years now. One of the things we found out recently is that there is a substance in the linings of cans that mimics estrogen and any canned food triggers her so still adjusting. I'll take her in for another UTI test just to be sure that's not it.

Oh no! I really do like the no rinse shampoo wipes for the minor incidents. They come in the pop up containers and are very easy to use.
