The horse I was working with

For anyone interested, just thought I'd share a photo. I sold the last of my horses in the summer of 2011 and have since just been riding whatever is offered to me.

For a couple of years, I've been working with "Mission," a thoroughbred off the track. He had such a baby brain, and is finally growing up at 6 years old. He has his conformational flaws, and he's quirky, but I'm proud of him, and he just sold - a new chapter for him, with his very own human, which he'll love.

Here we are a couple of weekends ago:

Love horses! Never really ridden one though. There is a Retirement Home for horses right outside of Gainesville. They have all kinds of horses there, big ones little ones, even a feisty donkey that likes to escape his pen. I like to volunteer there when I have the time, brushing the horses, cleaning their hooves, and the best part, feeding them carrots!

Nice. What will his new owner be doing with him?

She wants a hunter project, maybe a bit of jumpers, and just to take him to some local shows. Sounds like a good match, he still needs a lot of "fine tuning" but the dangerous baby antics are out of the way.

He'll never be an A circuit horse but he's super brave and is a sweet boy, and she wanted a pet more than anything, which he totally is.

He is beautiful! I rode hunter/jumper as a kid and the moved on to three day eventing as I got older. I haven't ridden much for years and I really miss it. I am obsessed with the New Vocations program and horses, and hope to get an off the track thoroughbred when my daughter is a bit older.

He's so beautiful! For me it's always been LABS —> dogs and horses The young lady I have Mel from is a horse person and in addition to riding she does hippotherapy for autistic kids and stuff like that, so Mel was born on a horse ranch.
