Bacon has some greenish eye discharge :( Mojo!

Poor Bacon has always had some eye boogers, but yesterday when Jake wiped some away he noticed that they had just the slightest green tint to the ones from his left eye. We both looked at the eye, it wasnt swollen or red. We both crossed our fingers that it was a fluke, or just some lake water in his eye. When I woke up this morning (I get up much earlier than Jake) I checked his eye. There was more discharge, and again slightly green. I shook Jake awake (he wasn't too pleased) and told him. We agreed that we would call the vet once it opens at 8 AM. We both obviously have work, so any appointment will have to be after work. My poor buddy!

Once I call the vet I will update you all! Mojo please!!!

My dog has that as well. I asked the vet and ours just said to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse to go back in. He went through a stage of having yellow/greenish gunk in his eyes every morning (like sleep) but he hasn't had it for a little while now.
    Hope Bacon is ok!!

Is this his first spring? Can't tell if he was born Feb 9 or Sept 2. First exposure to pollens might cause goobery eyes, it's fairly common. However a caution, it doesn't have be green or yellow to be infected. Oban's wasn't but he had conjunctivitis. It cleared up but the goobers came back and Vet said it was a puppy thing as the infection was gone. After another month it cleared up just as she said it would, imagine that.

Most likely conjunctivitis, don't worry, it's not a big deal.

    Mojo sent your way!

Poor guy, yuck. Maggie had something similar a month ago- but I knew that a small piece of a dried leaf had gotten into her eye the day before while she was rolling in the yard. Vet stained it- thankfully no scratch and prescribed an antibiotic eye ointment. Within a day of the medication the gunk was gone and all was well. Hope it is nothing serious!

Just got off the phone with the vet. We have an appointment for 3 PM. She said that she doesnt like to chance it when the discharge is green or yellow.
