    Uber or Lyft Users

Anybody make good use of Uber or Lyft? I realized in my last couple excursions to the US how wide spread they are. Most of the Casinos we were at had their own designated drop off zones for both of them. Last trip the we used a shuttle service back and forth from the airport. It's a shared bus and the guy kind of drove past our drop and then dropped off last. He apologized but I am thinking we might have been better off with Lyft.
    Thanks Everyone!!

I love Uber! I almost never use cabs anymore. Uber came especially handy in Europe. We went to some countries that used different money denominations than we do here and cab drivers definitely take advantage of that! With uber, we would summon a car, enter our origin and destination in the app and it didn't even matter if our driver spoke English (which many of them didn't because they didn't work in the hospitality industry) and we were able to get to where we needed to go safely and with no issues.

It's hard to even get a cab in San Francisco, we solely use Uber and Lyft. Things I love about them in comparison to cabs:

    1. Automatically charges to credit card through app
    2. Don't need to tip
    3. Lots of deals and options (example, not in a hurry, use Uber Pool. They might pick someone else who shares your route and it will be half the price)
    4. Able to split the cost of the ride between multiple people very easily

The time you need to worry is for "surge pricing" where the ride will cost you many times more than it normally would do to high demand.

Love Uber...used it recently on a trip to Los Angeles. Had to take a cab when arriving at the airport to where I was staying and it was over $80. Used Uber going to the airport on the same route and it was only $35. Was worried about surge pricing because we were in LA for the Rose Bowl on New Years Day but we didn't see any price spikes on multiple routes.

Uber was amazing in Chicago, even with their great transit system. We were on a visit to see our daughter and her fiance, and decided to eat at a restaurant that was quite out of the way. It would've involved multiple changes of transportation, but it was easy and inexpensive with Uber. Plus, they dropped us off at their apartment building - Chicago city blocks are a loooonnnng walk!
