    Cobwebs on my checkbook.

Yikes! Our mechanic requires payment by check. There are so few people who do that these days but I finally made my way through the set that was in my wallet after a couple of years so I went to get the next one and a spider had gotten into the drawer. There were actual cobwebs on my checkbook.

It made me a little sad.

    You made me laugh.

I'm old school, still use a checkbook when out shopping. If I remember correctly, you do a lot of work on line so your payment methods would be different than mine.

Oh, thanks for reminding me, need to balance the dang thing.

Ha ha our car payment and mortgage payment are both by check. It boggles my mind that we can only do online payments if we open an account with each bank respectively. Checks are expensive too! I just spent $30 on a box of the stupid things! It'll take like 5 years to go thru them all.

I keep mine in my dog bag. Lessons, classes, matches, shows...that's the only thing I use them for.

I was just watching a Twilight episode, the guy that goes mad in a casino. He was writing cheques and cashing them at the teller to play a slot machine. I kind of laughed when he whipped the cheque book out and the casino cashed it just like that. I haven't written a cheque in quite a long time.
    Thanks Everyone!!

I still write 1 check per week to our pet sitter. Other than that it's all online.
I stopped at a gas station and was told they didn't accept CASH! Credit cards only. I politely told them I'd take my cash across the street.

When Faye and I were in the States we had lunch with friends. One was amused that I paid our tab with cash. Well, when using plastic there is the exchange rate, plus a foreign currency transaction fee . . .

Speaking of cash. It seems that Louisiana has banned the use of cash at flea markets, garage sales, and secondhand stores (like Goodwill). More than a few senior central bank people have called for banning cash; several countries have caps on cash transactions.

I have a couple of credit cards on hand that have no foreign currency transaction fees like the Amazon.ca Visa.

My wife rented a car while on our last vacation and used our Costco Mastercard that adds the foreign transaction.... ouch.
    Thanks Everyone!!

My RV loan is with a bank, a small bank, however they can not accept electronic payments. Which is infuriating. they also don't give me a payment book, instead every month they send me a payment slip that I need to send back to them with a check. I really hate this bank. Anyway, before i got this loan I first had to find where i put my checkbook, then when I did. The last check I had written was in 2008 when I bought my house. I do find it odd now days when places can't accept electronic forms of payment. I bought girl scout cookies and the little girl had a mini CC reader that plugs into her phone. Yet a bank can't accept electronic forms of payment.

It does seem old-timey. They could give you a payment book. On the other hand perhaps it's a way to keep their costs (and therefore fees) down. Also that makes identity theft and account hacking more difficult.

We took a road trip several years ago and I stopped for gas. A sign on the pump read 'Credit and debit down' so I went in, paid cash, and we were on our way. Another customer whose vehicle was breathing fumes (my phrase not the customer's) had no cash and maybe, maybe not, made it to a station with working EFT.
