Climbing for the first time ...

Zeke's second time off leash at a dog park, we had the place to ourselves for awhile so I wanted to see if he could climb a couple obstacles.

There were a few times he didn't get the smooth one before he succeeded. This was his first attempt at the smooth ramp. The one with the rungs we tried the next day and he got that first try.

Yes, he is a smart dog. Between the couple days these videos were taken and the next time at the park, a couple weeks had passed. As soon as we got there he ran to both structures and climbed them, looking for treats, he remembered he had gotten them there before.

He seems very smart and eager to please, and you can tell he wants to work. I loved watching he run to you in the third video, typical Lab pup with the legs all over the place!!! I would be cautious with a young dog climbing those a-frames, elbows and knees are still developing and that type of exercise can put a lot of stress on those joints.

    ↑↑ This!!

He really is a cutie and obviously very smart and eager to please! They really are little sponges at this age, I bet he would do very well in a beginner obedience class.

Yeah, his legs in the last one made me crack up. Crazy legs! When Hoku runs full force it's very straight-forward, but when she walks, her butt sways like a Kardashian. I am sometimes surprised she doesn't knock herself over. Between that and her flirty smiles, she's shameless.

But yes, you can tell he wants to work, and is very clever. Great dog! I think he'd really love a beginner obedience class. Hoku adores hers.
