    Gabe's Vet is Expecting

For the last two years I have been "pushing' her to have a baby because she is the kind of person who would make a""PERFECT"" MOM and her husband also 'perfect'. They are in their late 20's- early 30's ( I did not ask age). Both have wonderful careers they want to enjoy before 'settling down'. BUT every time I see her I tell her they are running out of quality family time.

At Gabe's teeth cleaning last Tuesday, she casually dropped the fact that we would have to do Gabe's annual checkup earlier than normal because her 'due date' falls on the week of his checkup. I was at first just frozen in thought because it did not register with my mind. Then I looked at her, smiled and said 'You created a human being with a soul' and she was all smiles.

She is such a wonderful person besides being a great doctor. I just can't say enough good about her and am so excited for her.

She and her husband are going on a cruise to the Bahaman Islands this week to celebrate and I thought that was wonderful, but then remembered about the Zika mosquitoes in that area.

I am asking for MOJO, prayers, good thoughts, anything that would keep those bugs away from her so she can have a healthy child with no problems.

I know the people on this board have many powers and she is very special to me, so I ask for your help.

Congratulations to your vet and her husband! Hopefully they will have checked to see what the risk of Zika is where they are going! Such a scary thing to arise, seemingly out of the blue. There will never be an end to medical research when new illnesses continue to appear like this.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Sending good thoughts! I wonder if the Zika virus was something they considered and discussed with her OB, I would be awfully afraid to risk it.

Congratulations to your vet! It's wonderful to see life evolve for those around us that we care so much for.

Think I would be very cautious about the trip.

That's nice, that you have such a good relationship with your Vet. Gosh, I hope that vacation is safe for her/them.
