    New Title

Very proud to announce that Chloe got her 2nd and 3rd legs this weekend and is now officially a UTILITY DOG!!!!!

So very happy with her - she had good scores (192 both days), even with a couple small hiccups (a no-sit each day on different exercises due to anticipation/eagerness). The other thing that gave her trouble has me a tiny bit concerned though. Both days she dropped the metal article while returning. There was a match last night and she was fine with it. I’m thinking it might have to do with the fact that I had left the articles in the car all night both nights and they were still pretty cold in the mornings. I’m wondering if she has a cracked tooth or something making her sensitive, but I took a quick peek in her mouth and didn’t see anything obvious. I think I’m going to experiment with making the articles cold and seeing if it really was that, and if so, then pursuing any mouth issues from there ....

Congratulations! I don't know a whole lot about the Obedience Ring but I know you have to work darn hard to get one of those titles!

Vis. dropping stuff... on a dog that just doesn't drop items, I'm always suspicious of mouth problems until proven otherwise. Twice I've seen otherwise dependable field dogs drop ducks. One was a foxtail with abscess and the other time was a tooth. So keep an eye on it.

But GOOD WORK both of you.

That’s kind of my feeling. One drop could be a random weird fluke, but two days in a row, of the exact same object while other things (she had no trouble with the leather scent articles or the fun bumpers I threw to give her a break from being crated all day) makes me suspicious.

    Congratulations team Chloe!

I hope the metal object drops are nothing significant.
