    Montana, almost out of time

I am so sad. I am going to take Montana in to say goodbye *most likely* tomorrow. Saturday night he slept rather restlessly and Sunday morning his tumor appeared to have swollen a bit. Not gown, but swollen. I went to kiss his nose & he turned away so I knew it hurt. There's been more blood from his nose lately too but he's been like a miracle-really enjoying life. I called the animal rescue nearby because I didn't want to take him 45 min. away to the ER where we've never been. Long story short the vet said if it were his dog he would say good bye. He gave me Tramadol to cover him for pain to get me thru the next 24-48 hours to see if the swelling stopped or went down. There was a small decrease yesterday but today it has increased. I gave him the pills. I am going to call later to see if I can get the appt. for a specific time tomorrow so I know I can have my dd at home with her father as neither of them will be going with me. This is for me and Montana alone. Without the additional pain med. coverage-waiting for tomorrow would not be an option.

When he was on the table yesterday and the vet was talking with me, i was stroking his fur & he turned and gave me the most sweet and gentle kiss on the face-the vet and his nurse both stopped-it was a moment that said it all. Hang with me guys please-this is gonna be rough.

Sending you the biggest hug possible. We recently went through this and I'm still dissolving into tears on any random day over any random memory. Wish I could make it easier for you.

Oh gosh - I am crying reading this. I had to put my Moby down in November - and it is still raw and catches me like a knife sometimes. You are doing the right thing - Montana's kiss told you that. I am so sorry - this is such a painful time. My thoughts are with you.
